Practice Midwifery the Way You Always Intended

Midwives deserve more than two imperfect choices. Hospital employment often limits autonomy in favor of standardized schedules. Independent practice offers freedom but can mean administrative burden and demanding call coverage. Hera offers a different path; one where you can practice full-scope midwifery within a physician-led team that shares your commitment to exceptional outcomes, collaborative care, and lifelong professional growth.

Full-scope practice, not diluted scope

Antepartum through postpartum, not just L&D coverage

The midwifery model of care, preserved

Collaboration with physicians and MFM, not replacement by them

Protocols you’d write yourself

Built by midwifery and MFM leaders, validated by network-wide outcomes data

Direct MFM backup for complex transfers

A phone call, not a scramble

Autonomy to practice at the clinic level

Schedules set locally, patient care over patient quotas

Practice at Your Best

Everything at Hera is intentionally designed to help midwives practice at their highest level. Through physician partnership, evidence-based care, and a collaborative culture, you’ll have the support, autonomy, and resources to focus on what matters most – delivering exceptional care for women and their families.

MFM Embedded in Your Daily Practice

Maternal-fetal medicine isn’t a referral you make; it’s built into the care model. You collaborate with MFM specialists on every complex patient, not just emergencies.

Your Outcomes Data Works for You

Hera’s data warehouse captures structured outcome data across every birth, every protocol, every complication. It’s designed for research, not just billing.

Payer Complexity Disappears

Hera’s centralized payer negotiation team handles contracts, credentialing, and reimbursement; you see patients. We handle the administrative work that lets you spend more time with your patients.

Simulation Training That Actually Saves Lives

Hera’s maternal-fetal medicine simulation program trains the entire care team – midwives, OBs, hospitalists, and L&D nurses together. The drills become intuitive before you need them.

Full-Scope Practice, Real Autonomy

You practice antepartum through postpartum care, not a narrowed slice of the midwifery model. Network infrastructure supports the practice; it doesn’t dictate it.

Clinical Community, Not Just Colleagues

Hera’s national network means you’re never the only midwife in the room. Peer consultation, protocol review, and mentorship are built into the way the team works.

FROM HERA MIDWIVES

Don’t Take Our Word for It

I was looking for an organization where midwives are viewed as clinical partners, not extensions of someone else’s practice. Hera has given me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients while practicing within a team that’s genuinely committed to better outcomes for women and babies.

I came from private practice because I was looking for more than a job; I wanted a place committed to improving maternal outcomes. In just a few months, I’ve seen how Hera combines evidence-based protocols with genuine respect for provider autonomy, and it’s been incredibly refreshing.

CNM at My OBGYNE

After eight years in a large hospital system, I wanted to get back to practicing midwifery the way I was trained. At Hera, I’m part of a true collaborative care team where my voice matters, my physician partners value my perspective, and every decision starts with what’s best for our patients.
