Hera Women’s Health is a well-funded, private equity-backed, growing medical practice focused on creating sustainable ways to improve obstetrical and gynecological  outcomes. We are searching for a Medical Office Benefit Specialist to join our team in Las Vegas. This position verifies patient benefits, coordinates authorizations and referrals as needed, determines patient coverage and financial responsibility and manages patient’s accounts according to defined standards. Will create payment arrangement schedules as necessary.  

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Verification of benefits for patients prior to appointment. Insurance verification then enters the information properly into healthcare system software, marking all information regarding co-pay, referral obligations and balance from patients before the patient checks in for appointment.
  • Insurance authorizations, obtained in a timely manner and entered into healthcare system software
  • Ensure correct modifiers are added to charges appropriately and understand the LCDs associated with procedures performed in the practice.
  • Assist patients regarding insurance questions either in person or via telephone
  • Obtain insurance referrals or authorizations, ensuring all referrals are obtained prior to patients appointment and entered into healthcare system software
  • Keep up to date with insurance plans each physician (or practice) is participating in
  • Manages patients accounts receivable
  • Responds to patient needs.
  • Sort, scan, and file a variety of medical records and information into an electronic patient chart in appropriate sections.
  • Manage task lists on a daily basis for review and completion of tasks.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 – 2 years experience in an OB/GYN office
  • Intermediate Computer Literacy with basic knowledge of office procedures and business machines.
  • Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD 10 and EMR systems
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of medical billing systems and HCPC coding
